old WIP finish - YAY

"Anniversary Sampler" from The Sweetheart Tree.Started 5 years ago, did about 3 bands then it got put away until March of this year when I figured I'd really better get onto it since the anniversary it's for is this year, LOL.

So off to the framers it goes this week.

It's not a good pic at all. Too big for the scanner, I had to use the camera. Tried lots of things but to no avail. It just stays looking fuzzy, pale and no detail. Admittedly it isn't the most brightly coloured of designs, but still you'd think it would show up better than this...grrrr.

Cameo - I need you to come give me lessons!!!

Excellent! Another reason to go to NZ!

Really pretty, Kathryn. I love those Sweetheart Tree designs, but get messed up in the blackwork/backstitching portions sometimes.

I like your duck posted in 2muchxs, too!

One hint on the taking pictures thing? Place your stitching on a plain background that's a different color from your fabric. I like to use the complementary color on the color wheel or pull out a minor color used in the stitching, and use that as the background color.

If you can, take the photo in natural sunlight, but not direct sunlight. So, I might take it outside on the deck, but in the shade. Dawn or dusk will help, too.

On a digital camera, take a nice high res shot that's got good focus. Then in your photo program, crop the image close to the stitching, and re-size it to a smaller size for the web.

How lovely! I managed about 20 stitches when we were on holiday. Pathetic I know.
