Thank heavens for stash!

Tink's Aerobics competition leotard is done - and thanks to the lycra stash, it only took 2 days from cutting out to trying on.  And it fits!  (I stitched an extra wide seam down the arms and used a different pattern with a narrower body).
From my stash, I put out three bundles of fabric for Tink to choose from and this is the result:

She loves it, it matches her glasses and it's comfortable.
My job here is done!

One for the money, two for the show...

three to get ready, now go go go!
Next weekend the girls will attend their first AER competition, hence the recent flurry of leotard experiments.  While I'm still thinking about what to make for Tink, Jess' is done  :)

Jess chose the lycra and she's really happy with the result.  I like that she chose such bright colours.

Testing, testing...

Yup - one  more experimental leo.  I call this colour "cadbury purple" and love it.  What chocoholic wouldn't?

This one tests a pattern tweaked especially for Jess by my fabulous neighbour, Clare; plus a new idea for applique (I have gone over the quilt side: I now own a cutting mat and a rotary cutter).
The applique on the shoulder hasn't quite worked, but I'm quite pleased with the other two.  Main thing though, is that Jess likes the fit of this pattern, which has been the point of all this afterall!

Tiggerific

Still experimenting - this time getting familiar with mesh (and invisible zips):

Mesh is surprisingly strong and easy to work with, considering how flimsy and slippery it feels en masse.
Now on to the "real" leos - the ones that my girls will actually wear in competition.  Just 4 or 5 to make, lol!

Still at it

Playing with the lycra stash, experimenting with different ways to applique, arrange and merge the colours.

The girls are, off and on, doing AER (sports aerobics).  At some point they hope to be ready for a competition.  So, naturally, mad Evil Gym Mom is having a go at AER comp leos.

Hence we get:

Tink says it's comfortable; Jess says it's very loud.
I think I'll keep experimenting  :)
